Windows 7 Not Opening Exe

Hi,

Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 Users The following solution uses a file association fix for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users. Download and run RstAssociations (.scr version). Note that this RstAssociations is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7, both 32- and 64-bit versions. Check Exe, and click Restore.

If the issue is with your Computer or a Laptop you should try using Reimage Plus which can scan the repositories and replace corrupt and missing files. This works in most cases, where the issue is originated due to a system corruption. You can download Reimage by clicking the Download button below.

  • Windows 7:.exe files will not open in Windows 7 64 bit. Viruses can do a number of things and manifest themselves differently. This could be a virus. See my sig and download Malware Bytes, update and do a full scan. Sometimes running the sfc /scannow 2-3 times and rebooting between runs can help too. If none of that works go with the Repair Install as FliGi7 suggests.
Opening No one program can be relied upon to detect and remove all malware. Added that often easy to detect malware
is often accompanied by a much harder to detect and remove payload. So its better to be overly thorough now
than to pay the high price later. Check with these to an extreme overkill point and then run the cleanup only when
you are very sure the system is clean.
These can be done in Safe Mode - repeatedly tap F8 as you boot however you should also run them in
regular Windows when you can.
Download malwarebytes and scan with it, run MRT, and add Prevx to be sure it is gone. (If Rootkits run UnHackMe)
Download - SAVE - go to where you put it - Right Click on it - RUN AS ADMIN
Malwarebytes - free

Run the Microsoft Malicious Removal Tool

You should be getting this tool and its updates via Windows Updates - if needed you can download it here.
